The
Walk to Emmaus
A Journey with Christ |
| . |
| What
is the Walk to Emmaus? |
|
It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as He is
revealed to you through other believers. Persons are
invited to attend a three-day experience of New Testament
Christianity. Following the Walk, servant-leadership
skills are developed for use in the local church and it's
mission. |
| . |
| What
Happens on Emmaus Weekend? |
|
It is a 72-hour, 3-day experience of Christian spiritual renewal
and formation. Discussions center around talks given by
laity and clergy about God's grace, how that grace comes alive
in the Christian community, and how it expresses itself in the
world. Participants discover how grace is real in their
own life, how they and live a life of grace, and bring grace to
others. |
| . |
| What
Happens Afterward? |
|
Those who have attended the Weekend, are encouraged to
servant-leadership and to expand their own spiritual lives
through worship, study, and active participation in their local
church, and to become more active disciples of Christ in service
to the world. |
| . |
| What
is the Purpose of Emmaus? |
| The
purpose of Emmaus is to develop leaders for the church.
Emmaus will inspire, challenge, and equip participants for
Christian action in their homes, churches, and places of
work. Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace-filled lives to
be lived and shared with others. |
