We are a family of faith called to embrace and celebrate the diversity of our community.  We strive to be the servants of Christ, sharing God's grace and hope with the world.

United Methodist
Women

The General Conference of the United Methodist Church states that "The Women’s Division shall be an advocate for the oppressed and dispossessed with special attention to the needs of women and children; shall work to build a supportive community among women; and shall engage in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement through the organization."

The Purpose of the United Methodist Women of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church is to be a community of women who knows God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Goals of the Fort Worth West District UMW
We will work to strengthen our network of communication, understanding, and participation between the local units and the district to enable us to fulfill our purpose. To do this we will:

  • Encourage participation in District and Conference UMW events by 100% of our local units.
  • Seek an increase of 5% participation in the Reading Program, where members are encouraged to read books from a recommended list.
  • Emphasize recruitment of new members in all units.
  • Seek an increase of 10% in the Burning of the Candle, which raises money for Methodist church missions.
  • Enable each local United Methodist member to know that she is important to God and to UMW.
  • Meet our pledge to the conference in Mission .
  • Have every district officer contact 5 local UMW units.
  • Support the Conference Goals for the current year.

UMW Membership
Any woman who commits herself to the purpose is invited to become a member of the United Methodist Women. That membership can be expressed in any of the following ways:
