We are a family of faith called to embrace and celebrate the diversity of our community.  We strive to be the servants of Christ, sharing God's grace and hope with the world.

Visitors
Center

WELCOME!

We all bring different backgrounds and experiences to the church. Nevertheless, we have in common the sacred journeys that are our lives. At  Arlington Heights United Methodist Church you will find friends to laugh with when the road is smooth and easy, but you will also find strength and inspiration to sustain you when the road is bumpy and difficult.

Arlington Heights United Methodist Church has an average weekly worship attendance of over 600. We make every effort to welcome each visitor to our Community of Faith personally.

Because God's welcoming spirit is alive in this congregation, we want to know more about you.  Tell us how we can become companions with you on your journey.  Talk with our members.  Feel free to ask any of our ministers about the church.  Never hesitate to call our church office for information.

We hope you will join us for a weekend service to see for yourself what we’re about. AHUMC offers a safe, fun and friendly environment for your entire family to experience the journey together.

Greeters & Ushers
Upon entering Arlington Heights UMC, you will find that there are greeters at each entrance, as well as a Visitors and Information Center in the north end of the Atrium, where you will find information on each activity group in our church.  An usher is stationed at each door to the Sanctuary. Greeters are likewise stationed at each entrance to the building and in the Atrium area.  There is also a staff member in the atrium area until approximately 10 minutes following the start of each worship service.  Any of these people can be easily identified, as they will be wearing a badge or name tag.  They are all available to answer any questions you may have, or to lead you in the right direction.  Please do not hesitate to ask them questions ... they are there to help you!

Information Desk
At the North end of the Atrium, near the double doors leading to the sanctuary, you will find the Welcome and Information Desk.  Here you will find leaflets and brochures detailing virtually every group and activity at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church!  An information folder is also located here that will answer any question you might have about these groups or activities, when and where they meet, and a contact person.  Feel free to ask the volunteer at this desk for any assistance you require.

Parking
Parking is available to the west of our main building.  There are a limited number of spaces also available at Wesley Place, directly south of the main building and across Camp Bowie Blvd. The main congestion time is between 9:00 and  9:30, and before the 10:50 service.

On special Sundays, when there is a holiday or a special event, traffic and congestion will be greater; therefore, we will have parking lot attendants to help direct traffic flow.

Parking for handicapped persons, and a drive-up area for "unloading" is available along Hillcrest Avenue, to the west of the building, under the awning.

Our Senior Adult Ministries (S.A.M.) sponsors for all who wish to take advantage it, the free valet service under the awning on Sunday mornings.

Nursery & Children
A nursery is available for your children, infant through four years old, during our worship service.  An usher will be happy to guide you to the nursery area.

Older children, age 4 through 3rd grade, are invited to join us in the worship service, and encouraged to join the Pastor for story time during the early part of the service.  He always has an exciting story and lesson for the children!

Inquirer's Class

Visitors, as well as new members, are encouraged to participate in this 4-6 week course which covers United Methodist beliefs, history, and church structure. This class / course is offered approximately four times a year and includes a resource library and a tour of the church. Led by the Pastors.
